Jillian Schwedler
Jillian Schwedler's research agenda has evolved over the years from a focus on civil society, to Islamist political parties and the inclusion-moderation hypothesis, to contentious politics, protests, political geography and urban space. Her work is broadly comparative but empirically is focused on the Middle East in general and Jordan and Yemen in particular.
Her most recent book is Protesting Jordan: Geographies of Power and Dissent, 2022 from Stanford University Press.
